Challenge
The surveying office CAD Planpartner commissioned Points2BIM to model a historical hall building that was to be digitally captured as part of a planned renovation. The challenge: complex geometries such as roof constructions, a vaulted cellar, and a historical stage had to be precisely digitized and converted into a robust 3D model. The goal was to provide the architect of the end customer with a high-quality planning basis in LOD 300 - without having to tie up any internal modeling capacities.
Solution
The project was realized in close collaboration with the surveying office, which contributed its expertise to the creation of a precise digital measurement. Based on this, Points2BIM took over the automated model generation from the point cloud and, together with an experienced partner, delivered a complete BIM model in LOD 300 within eight days. Special architectural elements such as roof beams, supports, the stage, and the vaulted cellar were depicted in detail and accurately modeled.
Result
The finished model was handed over to the client in Archicad and IFC format and could be seamlessly integrated into the further design and execution planning. Through the clear division of tasks - measurement by the surveyor, modeling by Points2BIM - a highly precise model was created in a short time. The modeled structures enabled rapid coordination with the architect and significantly shortened the planning phase.
