AI thinks ahead, experts perfect the model
For a remodeling project in Munich, the architectural firm Wenzel + Wenzel commissioned Points2BIM for the digitalization of an existing building with a size of 18,500 m².
Nov 21, 2025
Wenzel + Wenzel needed a precise digital planning basis for the conversion of a complex existing building. The goal was a usable Revit model that reliably supports design and execution planning.
Building type:
Administrative and office building in an urban context
Model delivery:
60% faster including after-processing (As-Built Standard)
Model area:
18,500 m²
Challenge
The building featured numerous facade projections, bay windows, and a sophisticated roof landscape with varying slopes. At the same time, time was pressing: The architecture firm needed a quick and precise basis to prepare for the renovation without delay. A manual re-modeling would have been neither economically nor temporally feasible.
Solution
Points2BIM combined automation with expert know-how. After quality inspection and post-processing of the point cloud (NavVis VLX 3), automated model generation occurred on the platform: Levels, walls, openings, and space structures were automatically detected.
Experienced modelers subsequently added complex roof structures, beams, and detail deviations. This resulted in a consistent Revit model that could be seamlessly integrated into the planning processes.
Result
In just four weeks, a highly detailed Revit model was completed – created by a single modeler. Compared to manual modeling, approximately 60% of processing time was saved. The architecture firm received a reliable planning basis that enabled the efficient preparation of designs and renovation processes – despite complex geometry.
We are extremely satisfied with the result. Our team has a precise foundation – overall a model we can rely on.
